What is this?
Obama’s first year results earn ‘D’ grade, at best
Published Tuesday, February 23, 2010
It would seem that everything that ever happened in America can be blamed upon the Republican Party. However, the facts just will not bear those claims made in a recent letter to the editor.
The true facts are that the NAFTA free trade act was enacted by a Democrat named Bill Clinton with the help of both a Democratic Senate and a Democratic House of Representatives. And it happened more than a year before the Republicans took office. It happened Jan. 1, 1994.
Ms. Littlejohn also stated that the Republicans are the ones holding up progress in passing bills.
Nothing could be farther from the truth.
When President Obama took office he had a lock on anything that he wanted. The truth is that the Republicans couldn't stop any bill that the Democrats wanted to pass. It is the Democrats who fought each other and the Republicans were on the outside watching, while nothing was being done. Remember, you can't blame those who are on the sideline if your team doesn't play.
Incidentally, the author goes to the Internet to talk about one company that supports the Republicans over the Democrats.
Well, I also went to the Internet and found the list of the top 100 companies that support both parties. Guess what? Out of the 100 companies that support the Democrats, it is 90 to 10 for them. This list of 100 is made up of labor unions, banks, companies, and stocks such as GE, and many more. Incidentally, the company she was so hard on was 78 percent Republican 22 percent Democrat, not like most of the others.
You can hold our president up all you want. However, facts are facts and the facts say that he has lied to us so much that it is hard to believe anything he now says.
He lied about everything being on C-SPAN three days. He lied about no bill with earmarks in it being signed and that he would call out the people with them to the public. Another time he said he would be a bi-partisan president. Ha, ha.
Obama said he wouldn’t sign a bill that couldn't be paid for. Well, when President Bush left office for his eight years in office, the total deficit for the eight years was $5 trillion dollars.
Now, in President Obama's watch, it has gone up more than $3 trillion dollars with no end in sight.
These are facts. Look them up. Facts don't lie. To me, the president is a good speaker but his speeches have a lot of lies in them. He graded his first year a “B+” but, by all standards, it is at best a “D-” if that.

Mr. Campbell, I voted for Ross Perot simply because of NAFTA. Both Mr. Clinton and Mr. Bush supported free trade. So it would not have mattered which one of those won, NAFTA would have been passed. Did you support Mr.Perot at the time???

I still have a Perot sticker on my old work cooler/lunchbox that I used to carry to work every day until that job got shipped to Mexico, thanks to NAFTA. I switched from Republican to Independant back then...indeed both Bush1 and Clinton were for NAFTA, it was well in the works to be passed before Clinton became the President. I took my blinders off back then, never to follow a political side blindly just because they claim to be righteous christians. I do agree with your grade of Obama being a "D-" at best. However, I don't believe Mccain/Palin would have scored any better with me! I don't see any good to come till we all decide that its time for a new party to represent the working people, and send all these Republicans and Democrats packing.

It's remarkable that with so much bitter partisanship, and the things he's trying to do, Obama's holding steady at 50% approval. Against specific Republican presidential hopefuls, his numbers shoot skyward. The wingnut conference last weekend voted Ron Paul their favorite potential candidate - yikes. Sarah Palin scored a big old 7%, AMONG WINGNUTS. Whoa!

If he gets a "D-" in your book, it would be beacuse Dubya took the test and put Obama's name on the top.
That's like blaming the janitor when a kid spills milk in the cafeteria.

Typical lib replies. Obama hasn't done jack and he had all the power in Congress. Blame him, not Bush.

Hey Keta, how about these numbers...
Overall, 45% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-four percent (54%) disapprove.
And as far as "Presidential hopefuls" Since nobody knows anything about them yet, their numbers will just increase. Sort of like if democrats had a "poll" four years ago today.... I'm sure Obama would have only gotten 1-2% since he was relatively unknown.
Is there ever been a president in history that has had as low approval numbers a year after he took office?
Posted by keta (anonymous) on February 23, 2010 at 4:41 p.m. (Suggest removal)
According to the Gallup poll, he's at 50%, and the percentage who disapprove has never been higher than the percentage that approves of his performance. You must have found those numbers at can'tyouseehe'scoloreddot com. Garbage in, garbage out.

And speaking of Keta racist friends...
CNBC and MSNBC contributor Donny Deutsch used racially charged language on Monday night, smearing Republican senatorial candidate Marco Rubio as a ''coconut.'' Deutsch appeared on HLN's Joy Behar Show and used the word, which Urban Dictionary defines as a ''person who is tan on the outside'' and ''white on the inside.'' Rubio is the son of Cuban exiles.

Read this and lets see how many lies that democrats have told us can we spot:
Pages 25 and 26 of the House version of the health care bill require that when expenses exceed revenues for the "temporary" National High-Risk Pool Program, the secretary of health and human services by herself will "make such adjustments as are necessary to eliminate such deficit, including reducing benefits, increasing premiums or establishing waiting lists."

I must concur with Homer Campbell's remarks concerning President Obama's performance. It has been lackluster to say the least.

If I had voted for Obama, I would probably somewhat approve of his performance also. Not too many people will admit that they messed up when their vote was cast for Obama.
Good article Homer.

54%

Ah, Rasmussen Reports. Scott Rasmussen was a paid consultant on Dubyah's 2004 campaign. At the risk of being accused of shooting the messenger (drink up, everybody!) MSNBC and other news sources refuse to use Rasmussen polls. When it comes to Obama's real numbers, though, the percentage that disapproves of his performance includes a large number of disgruntled liberals. More troops in Afghanistan? No public option? Bear in mind that being disappointed isn't the same as being crazy. Nobody's mad enough to cast a vote for Mitt Romney, or Ron Paul, and scorn for Sarah Palin is universal, and nobody wants to desert the union and form their own country. We have standards.

Rasmussen happens to be one of the most accurate pollsters if not the most accurate because he does not poll more Dems v. Repubs on a particular issue and he does not ask leading questions to arrive at a desired outcome. Dismiss him all you want Keta. Close your eyes and cover your ears and chant "na na na na na, I can't hear you." And having said that, what makes all the other pollsters credible? Because they tend to favor liberals instead of playing it straight? There is a reason FOX News is killing the other so called "respectable" news shows. Nobody believes a word the others are saying.

79Tiger, liberals like Keta and Jonferguson will typically attack anybody that doesn't spout the liberal talking points.
The difference in poll results is probably because Rasmussen asked likely voters while Keta's sites have to include everybody so that Obama's numbers don't look so bad.

Geez Keta, didn't know you ran Gallup? Amazing, the power you wield!
The reason "Faux" news has ANY viewers is because they cater to the idiocracy...you know tigger....people like.....you.
Of course Noemisis is giong to say his wing nut wacko poll is right! It does what he wants it to do. However, if that's the case....your not allowed to use results from gallup anymore Noesis. And you don't get to disclaim any OTHER polls from rassmussen that disclaim your lies.

Why does Fox News lowest rated show beat CNN and MSNBC's highest rated shows on a nightly basis? Call me ignorant all you want but I blame it on the ignorant people on the latter two news networks. And since you watch the latter, that makes you just as ignorant.

I find the news sources on TV, primarily Theatrics. What about you all? This is a serious situation. The American public (Us) has the right to be presented with an unbiased news presentation so we can form our own opinions. WE do not need to be influenced by a simple minded mentality.

Just catching replays of the health care summit. For the first time ever, I am hoping a President of the United States does not finish their first term in office. The way Obamao treated John McCain is beyond pathetic, it is childish at best. We have a momma's boy for President. No, make that, a grandmomma's boy. Bush 43 listened to McCain rail at him on many occasions and heard nothing but disdain for 8 years from all Democrats and he never once treated any them badly. Obamao jumps on McCain because McCain disagreed with him. I don't wish ill of Obamao, but 4 years is too much for the idiot grandmomma's boy to be the leader of this country.

Mamma's boy? I haven't watched it, so don't know the specifics, but if he jumped on McCain in a disagreement, I would say he was being a man. If Bush 43 sat back and took it, then HE was the mamma's boy (and he was)
It's about time he got some backbone, and told the party of no where to stick it. Now you've made me want to go check it out.

No jon. He was a girly man. A real grandmomma's boy/girl. And this is coming from somebody who is no fan of McCain. I say impeach the idiot in 2011 or make hate being President so badly that he just resigns and slithers away.

McCain is (1) furious that he doesn't get to sit at the big desk, and (2) sucking up to the republican base for all he's worth. He's in a dogfight with teabagger J.D. Hayworth for his senate seat. That's got to hurt. He used his airtime today to campaign, and it looked pretty much like his presidential campaign - dishonest and disgraceful. Go home, Grandpa.

When Obama won the Presidency with the help of the LEFTIST Media, Hollywood And Entertainment Liberals, Ethnic Socialists (ACORN), Stupid Non-Business Professionals and Bush Haters, I predicted, It won't take six months until the People figure this guy out and realize how horrible a mistake they've made. And when they come to that realization, the damage to the United States of America will be so great it will take a generation or more to repair - IF EVER.
Those who not only voted for the “Messiah”, but also worked [hard] to promote his “Lordship”, are now left holding the bag.
Here are two things they will NEVER do: They will NEVER admit to making a Blunder out of all proportion by electing a snake-oil salesman with no Positive social history or management experience of any kind. They will NEVER take responsibility for the curse they've imposed upon the immediate and long-term future of their country.
He's personally invested in 'totally insulting' America 's ONLY REAL Middle Eastern ally ( Israel ) in favor of Palestinian Despots and Murderers. He's traveling the world apologizing for the USA while lecturing others on how to do it right, when in fact and truth he has no experience at doing anything other than getting elected.
Maybe if America's first Emperor would stay home more, travel less, and work a little bit instead of being on television just about everyday, or stop running to "papered" Town Hall Meetings, perhaps he would have a little bit of time to do the work of the nation.
OBAMA WILL PROBABLY NOT FINISH HIS 4-YEAR TERM, at least not in a Conventional way.
He is such a political HORROR SHOW, and so detrimental to the USA and his Own Democratic Party, that the Democrats themselves will either FORCE him to Resign or figure out a way to have him thrown out.
I don't believe the Democrats have nearly as much love for their country as they do for their own political fortunes. And with Obama, their fortunes are rapidly becoming toast.

kce,
Give me one example....ONE.....of something the President has done that has directly affected your ability to do anything. Just one!
Your rant has NO food for thought....just hate and anguish because your ideals have been proved wrong, and don't work. There's a new sheriff in town, and he's holding accountable those who have made life hard for so many for so long.
He is up against unbelievable odds. To fight the corporate greed is a battle not made for the light hearted. Mainly because people like yourself by into the garbage they put out as fact. The same kind of crap Noesis, tiger, and others spout off. Puppets to the CEO's of America. Oh, and guess what? They just became MASTER puppeteers! Thanks, Supreme Court! Thanks for allowing even more greed to influence more ill-informed people in this country.
I can see the commercial's now:
Exxon:
If you vote democrat, your gas will go up 1000%
NRA:
A vote for democrats is a vote for losing your right to bear arms
SEIU:
A vote for republicans is a vote for poverty wages
USW:
A vote for republicans is a vote to send your job overseas
That's right. I included both sides. Something you neocons can't admit to. No large entity deserves that right. That's MY right....YOUR right.....
This neocon attitude is nothing but a detriment to everything we hold true about our great nation. It is an attempt to divide our country, almost civil war - like. You guys just haven't found the right issue to get enough people on board yet for your treasonous ideas.

You want one thing jonferguson? Ok, I'll do you a few better, read on please, see if any of these mean anything to you, they surely do me!
Make the government more transparent - LIE
Give the public 5 days to review any large bills before they are signed - LIE (they passed the stimulus package and NO ONE read it)
Not to allow any Lobbyist to hold any positions in his administration - LIE, he appointed 7 lobbyists
Bring the troops home from Iraq sooner - LIE , he kept and agreed with the timeline the Bush administration put into place
Close Gitmo within his first 100 days - LIE , its still up and running
No one who makes less then $250k with see ANY increase in ANY taxes. - LIE, taxes have been raised on many things those making under $250k purchase. (Cigarettes, canned beverages, cap and trade, 401k capitol gains, etc)
Promises no one who already has healthcare will feel any effects of nationalized healthcare - LIE = him and congress are trying to pass a bill to TAX healthcare benefits of those who already have it to pay for his healthcare plan.
Oh & Jon, if none of these count, here is a link to 100 more!

jonferguson and kce; I find misrepresentation of the fact from both political parties. This concerns and depresses me. I tend to lose respect and admiration for my fellow man. I find hope and encouragement in both of your searchers for the truth.
Posted by jonferguson (anonymous) on March 3, 2010 at 7:28 a.m. (Suggest removal)
Again kce, how has ANY of the LIES you listed above directly affect you?
Answer: They haven't affected you at ALL. You completely side stepped the question with your grocery list of crap that EVERY conservative throws out as how this country is being ruined, and you, nor anyone else, has been affected at all.
Taxes? States have raised taxes on cigarettes and beer, the two loves of your life I'm sure. There has been no cap and trade or capital gains.
Health care?
Not happened (yet)
Transparency? Just held a live summit on cspan
5 days? Its his fault that noone read the bill Dubya started? It was available. People CHOSE not to read it
Close Gitmo in 100 days? He said he would sign a bill to close Gitmo in his first 100 days, which he did. Not that it would be closed in 100 days
Bringing troops home earlier? He went by the Bush timeline because Bush finally decided to listen to his commanders just before he left office. It was the right plan, Bush just didn't care until the end.
Lobbyists? None of them were current lobbyists when they were appointed. Yes, they were formerly lobbyists, but not when they were appointed.
Bring on all your half truths and lies. I'm ready

Okay, jonferguson, how about the inverse? What has Obama done in his first year that has improved your life?
Health care: Not done - didn't even do the easy things.
Credit card letters to tell me what my payment deadlines are: ????
Closing GITMO: not done
Ending two wars: not done
Paygo: Congress flouted that on the unemployment extension.
Ethics clean up: Two words: Charlie Rangel
Executive order to form deficit reduction commission. Excuse me, wouldn't it been easier to just submit a balanced budget to Congress? Just asking.
Photo ops are cute: garden, Halloween, Easter egg roll, and Mrs. Obama's clothes are fun to look at.
All this arguing over polls: after mincing and crunching all these different poll, one wonders that Obama has done to approve of?
Posted by jonferguson (anonymous) on March 4, 2010 at 3:23 p.m. (Suggest removal)
What programs should we cut to submit a balanced budget there cashmere? Maybe the monsterous Homeland Security Dept? How about defense? Maybe SSI?
How about, instead of you hypocrites trying to take stuff away from people, you try to find a way to make sure its paid for. There's a start. You aren't going to get rid of any entitlement programs....get over that idea. The only thing left is to work on them, and get them funded properly.
"after mincing and crunching all these different poll, one wonders that Obama has done to approve of?"
That has to be one of the most incoherent statements, or questions, or whatever, I have ever seen.

cashmere; I find your comment "What has Obama done in his first year that has improved your life" thought provoking. I can't think of anything he has done that is beneficial to the betterment of Americans. To be honest with you, I think the majority of his decisions have been detrimental.
Posted by jonferguson (anonymous) on March 8, 2010 at 11:08 a.m. (Suggest removal)
That's a big flaw in our society. Expecting some form of immediate gratification.
What the president has done is turned our nations eyes back on itself. Refocused our country on the issues HERE AST HOME. That's what scares the conservatives so. They HATE the thought that their stances on domestic issues may be under scrutiny. Its easy to convince people why we should be involved elsewhere in the world. Its a whole different argument that poor. sick, and elderly don't deserve health care coverage.
What has President Obama done to improve MY life?
He has caused ME to be more focused on what our responsibilities are to our fellow Americans
He has refocised the countries political system on the things they HATE to have to deal with: Social programs, and the governments role.
He has made healthcare a NATIONAL PRIORITY. As it should be.
