Road conditions not being taken seriously

Published Friday, March 5, 2010

Township Road 269 is atrocious. I know the excuse: bad weather. Well, that may be true right now, but I have heard that other township roads in our county were paved last year.

Now, if this is true and all trustee groups get the same amount of money per mile of road, why can’t ours be paved?

We can’t even get it fixed or even chip-and-sealed.

The road also needs better drainage, maybe a crown in the middle or sloped to the ditch.

Please trustees, come and see the road and you won’t have to take my word for it. Just drive slowly or you will damage your vehicle when you hit the holes.

One good thing is it slows down some of the speeders, which is a blessing in disguise.

I wonder how much money it would take to fix it right. It might be worth it in the long run. Thanks for listening.
