More stories about the History of Ironton and how it can inspire the spirit in us to bring back life in Ironton.

Thank you for having no news about the ministry of certain agencies in town that solicited donations from churches and never gave any back when it was sold for 3 times it's worth.

more on local stocks and bank rates

Coverage of every city council, village council, school board meeting in the county. Township trustees, too. Need all the items of business, not just the top headline of the night. You currently seem to cover these agencies only when something controversial is going on; need to shine the light on every meeting.

Interesting you would want them covered since we all know the decisions are made long before the actual meeting is ever held. The meeting is just a formality. Maybe they should cover the bars/hot tubs and other places where the decisions are made, and report from there.

Report on 'ATTITUDES' of local law enforcement agencies NOT ENFORCEING Laws & Ordnances.

If our LAZY Government Officials would make the County Sheriff & City & Village's Police Depts
ENFORCE ALL LAWS & ORDNANCES... From Illegal Parking... To Littering...
and STOP IGNORING THESE LITTLE THINGS...
I guarantee you'll start to see improvements in attitudes of all citizens...

When is the LAST TIME you saw a Neighborhood Watch Started Anywhere in Ironton and Lawrence County??

Not to mention the EXTRA MONEY from the fines that would be brought in.
A WARNING THE FIRST TIME and put them into
the system and a STIFF FINE every violation thereafter..!!

I'd like to see a weekly forum by readers that focus on community development and concerns. Constructive criticism from folks that are willing to make a difference.

To clean this place up and make a difference, you'd have to do away with the good ole' boy system, which includes the unions, the hippocrits in churches and politics, or is that the one and same?

Anything. I refuse to buy the Tribune anymore because there is nothing newsworthy in it with the exception of a few articles every once in a while. On Fridays when I would buy the paper I always thought there would be something to read because it was obviously thicker than other days, but when you look through it, it's only 4 extra pages of "Faith & Family" section, which is totally useless filler.

The police reports are also useless filler. This only adds to the gossip and nonsense that people in this area love so much.

There needs to be an entertainment section, and news that is worth reading. Grandma baking cookies for a local church is NOT front page material. Let's try a HEADLINE for once! News! Things going on in the world!

It's bad enough that people in this area don't realize how the real world works once you get away from here...you could at least try to educate them a bit with real news.

If this happened I would read the tribune daily along with my USA today.

Something that I haven't read in the Dispatch the DAY before.

The truth would be nice instead of your opinion on something you have not researched completely.

Local business and the men and women who keep them running. We have stores downtown that have been sticking it out and trying to earn a dollar in this tough economy. There are businesses that have been working in this town for 35 plus years, give them some credit for sticking it out and supporting this little town.

I don't think we've seen a story in about a month about the Ironton Paranormal Society. I think those people are great. Tolsoy himself would admit that stories featuring the IPS may be the greatest written work of all time. Never do I laugh so hard and enjoy myself so much as when I'm reading an IPS story.

how about a new poll every week or so

Posted by lawrencecountian (anonymous) on March 31, 2010 at 12:56 p.m. (Suggest removal)

A COMPLETE police blotter, Ironton and Sheriff reports, like Ashland and Huntington offer. (not just the editted versions days later) Communities can be more aware & watchful, if they know what's going on around them, honestly in a timely manner.

News WHEN IT HAPPENS. Not reported days later.

Posted by wonderingoutloud (anonymous) on April 5, 2010 at 12:05 p.m. (Suggest removal)

The police stories about how they turn a blind eye to law breakers would be nice. In general, any investigative stories would be of interest, instead of just what public officials say. Quit hiding the real news! Sometimes I think you do it just to stay on the good side of public officials.
